Carman Concert at MVCC

Good afternoon on this Thursday March 8, 2012.  I have a question is it spring or winter?  One day spring, and the next day winter.  O well that’s why we love Idaho.   Pastor Joy and I have some really cool news.  We are grandparents again.  Baby Judah Donald Hull was born at 1:10 a.m March 7th  yes this is in the wee hours of the morning, to our Daughter Jessica and Son in Law Scott Hull.   Pastor Joy was a good coach and I was a fidget grandpa.  I handled the birth of my own kid’s fine but these grand kids are something else.  He weighed in at 7 lbs 3oz and was 21” long.  I had to come back for Wednesday morning prayer so I left the hospital at 2 a.m. and got home at 5:00 a.m. and back to prayer at 6:40.  It was so worth it to be with our daughter and son in Law.  Pastor Joy stayed with Jessica in the Hospital until Wednesday afternoon and then came home for work.  Well of course we have to go back on Friday as they let her out of the hospital to get her situated at home.  We wouldn’t miss it.  I will be back for Sunday but Joy will stay a few days in Meridian.   Pastor Steve Isaak will also be gone this weekend as He and Richard Molina traveled to Dallas, Texas to the National Light for the Lost Conversion.
There are always some really cool things that go on at Mountain View Christian Center.  This week was the food pick up from one of our major suppliers so its 2 trips to Twin Falls, in addition to the 2 trips to our local grocery stores to pick up fresh rescue add in the numerous families who come to partake of the food it is always busy.  O I failed to tell you of the rest of Wednesday story.  After prayer I met up with the food pantry team and headed to Twin Falls to for a grant presentation for the MVCC Food Bank.  The presentation included what we have done in 2010, 25000+- People fed & clothed; 2011, 40,000 people fed and or clothed   and our projection is to feed or cloth 50,000 people in 2012.  It is amazing as there are only 45,000 in the 2 counties that we serve.  Yes I know there are repeats that we are tracking with the new software that we just purchased for the Food Bank.  We have a great team that understands the statement “Love God, Serve People”.  That is what MVCC is all about.  After all this fun I went home to take a nap….
Some other really cool things that are happening are our 2 mid week service  options.  On Wednesday nights we have Peace University and an intense Discipleship class as well as the Youth and children’s Ministries and on Friday we have Celebrate Recovery along with our Love and Respect Class.  Each of these starts at 7:00 p.m..
Ok the News is out we are hosting a concert.  Carman is coming to Town on Saturday March 31st.  The tickets are selling fast at $10.00 so get yours ordered today.  If you have never heard of this Christian artist Google his name and be pleasantly surprised as he sings a song “JC is in the House”.  I have included a flier for the email blast and will post the same on the blog site.
I will be continuing the series on the Book of Exodus as we cover chapters 12-20.  Go ahead and read these chapters as to become better acquainted and be able to follow along while I preach.  Be sure to invite a friend to church service this weekend.
We sure Love you
Pastors Jim & Joy Powell
